The Kommission für die Geschichte der Deutschen in Polen [Committee for the History of the Germans in Poland] deals with historical, cultural and regional historical research on the regions in Poland and the West Ukraine with historical German population, with the German minority in Poland in the inter-war years and the new German minority after 1945 as well as with the German-Polish relations in the fields of culture and politics.

Its electronic newsletter Germano-Polonica has been published twice a year since 2011. It succeeds to a newsletter which was published and printed by the Martin-Opitz-Library between 2001 and 2003. The newsletter contains current information from the fields of activities of the Committee and a review section.
