Mitteilungen des Instituts für Österreichische Geschichtsforschung
The journal Mitteilungen des Instituts für Österreichische Geschichtsforschung [Journal of the Austrian Institute of Historical Research] was founded in 1880. With a particular focus on Europe, it publishes scholarly articles and reviews on medieval and modern history (excluding contemporary history). This includes research from the fields of auxiliary sciences of history and archiving. For practical reasons, articles dealing with the history of Austria and the Habsburg Monarchy regularly form part of the content. However, the journal does not aim to represent a periodical which is primarily focused on Austrian history.
Two issues constituting one volume are published each year. Until 2011, these were named "Heft 1-2" and "Heft 3-4" (following an older format). Since 2012, the issues have been titled "Teilband 1" and "Teilband 2". About 10-15 articles are annually published, as well as several smaller notices and more than 50 book reviews and commentaries, representing the thematic scope at which the journal is aimed.
The reviews are published on recensio.net one year after the initial release (Moving Wall).
